Title: Alabama Seed in the SEC Tournament Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 08, 2015, 03:19:10 PM Well, we're playing in Nashville & our first opponent is Florida. Interesting match-up.
:popcorn2: Quote After finishing the regular season in thrilling fashion, Alabama now knows its path in the SEC tournament. The Crimson Tide (18-13, 8-10 SEC) earned the No. 9 seed for postseason play in Nashville. That matches Alabama with the No. 8 seed Florida in the noon Thursday game in Bridgestone Arena. The winner of that game meets Kentucky in the quarterfinals Friday. http://www.al.com/alabamabasketball/index.ssf/2015/03/alabama_sec_tournament_pairings_2015.html#incart_story_package Title: Re: Alabama Seed in the SEC Tournament Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 08, 2015, 03:42:37 PM Here's the bracket.

Title: Re: Alabama Seed in the SEC Tournament Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 08, 2015, 07:12:43 PM The bad news is that the winner gets Kentucky. :-\ No problem. First, we take out UF with a pressing, trapping, & zone defense & a physical game of drives to the basket. Then, we hit UK with a run & gun fast-paced offense keeping them off balance with the inside game using Kessens & Taylor with a flurry of 3 pointers from Cooper, Levi, Coleman, Slaughter & slashing drives to the basket by Obasohan & Levi. Kentucky won't know what hit them. However, this Kentucky team is undefeated, very talented, and on a mission, and I just don't see it happening, at least not with Bama/Florida.

Ordinarily I would be ok with UK winning the SEC and even the NCAA but for some reason I just don't want to see them go undefeated this year. Still ok with them winning the NCAA though...Title: Re: Alabama Seed in the SEC Tournament Post by: ALTideUp on March 09, 2015, 10:55:06 AM Wouldn't it be great if Bama could somehow win the SEC Tourney outright thereby securing a spot in the NCAA tourney and a contract extention for Grant? 8) At which point monkeys will fly out of our butts. I don't put much stock in what Scarb usually writes. This excerpt however, actually makes sense...http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/03/you_may_have_quit_on_anthony_g.html Quote At this point, it doesn't matter what you or I think Battle should do about Grant. It only matters what Battle and his advisors think, and don't forget this factor. Battle never intended to stay in the AD's job for a long time. Does he want to make a change when it's unlikely he would be around for the bulk of a new coach's tenure? One thing seems clear, though, in this cloudy crystal ball. If Battle makes a coaching change, he'll upset the players, who still believe in their head coach. If he doesn't make a change, he'll upset a good number of his fans who don't. This time is no different. Title: Re: Alabama Seed in the SEC Tournament Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 13, 2015, 05:22:01 PM Auburn & Bruce Pearl just won their 3rd straight SEC Tourney game beating LSU. This means the vultures are definitely circling over Grant, now.

But, some fans want a win at any cost ??? I agree I want a coach who has honesty and integrity. I also want them to graduate players and recruit good kids that stay out of trouble. I also want to win. There is no reason we can not have both at a school like Alabama. |
