Monday, I wrote about how the Super Bowl showed us the inexact science of recruiting and evaluation. In light of signing day, I gave you Chris Matthews, who led Seattle in receiving yards a few years after going undrafted upon his departure from Kentucky. And judging by the end of the game, I also could have included the example of New England's Malcolm Butler, who became the first ever product of West Alabama to win the Super Bowl.
Well, Tuesday we have the other side of that coin: For every diamond in the rough there is a chunk of fool's gold.
