Title: Lane Kiffin Post by: hscoach on January 18, 2015, 01:03:40 PM ESPN reporting he is the front runner for 49er's OC job.
Title: Re: Lane Kiffin Post by: Marshal Dillon on January 18, 2015, 01:27:24 PM Wow, somewhat of a surprise.
:stars: Title: Re: Lane Kiffin Post by: Catch Prothro on January 18, 2015, 05:36:42 PM The NFL has been paying attention to Bama this year. First the Tom Brady "Alabama" audible, now this. If Kiffin takes this job, he pretty much burns any bridge back to college football, I'm thinking. But OC in the NFL might be what he is best suited for. ???
Title: Re: Lane Kiffin Post by: McBaman on January 18, 2015, 05:54:28 PM It is bad enough that this rumor is out there this close to NSD but it would be really bad news if he left before NSD. Seems odd to be saying it but we need him to stick around another year.
Meanwhile...this editorial piece is exactly why he should stay at Bama for one more year if not two: http://espn.go.com/blog/san-francisco-49ers/post/_/id/11969/lane-kiffins-baggage-makes-him-strange-o-c-candidate-for-49ersaca He needs to write some new history and let memories of the old messes fade. Title: Re: Lane Kiffin Post by: bama57 on January 18, 2015, 06:48:58 PM Personally I think he stays. CNS gave him the chance when no one else would. He only leaves with CNS blessing! Is it strictly business? Has his family adjusted well to Tuscaloosa?
Title: Re: Lane Kiffin Post by: lstephen on January 19, 2015, 09:09:03 AM He said he committed to two years at BAMA. If he leaves after one he cements the impression that he can't be relied on.

I'm pretty sure he has already cemented the impression that he can't be relied on. When he said he committed two years to Bama he was just trying to soften that impression... I just look forward to see who he hires to replace the others that left. RTR!

Yeldon had 979 rushing yards. Did not realize how close BAMA was to having two 1000yd rushers this season. I'm sure the "commitment" was based on if nothing better coming along, like the NFL or a head coaching job.
