Title: Kirby Smart contacted by LSU
Post by: N.AL-Tider on January 12, 2015, 01:59:48 PM
For a possible lateral move as the DC down there. (http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2015/01/alabamas_kirby_smart_reportedl.html#comments)  What do you suppose the odds are that he will make the jump?

Interesting. Maybe he could want a fresh start & get out of the Saban shadow.

 :dunno:

I'd be very surprised.

CNS is not a proponent of lateral moves for his coaches and I don't think that Kirby has anything to gain by going to LSU as a DC. The only way I see him taking that job is that he and CNS are at odds with each other and I haven't heard of anything of that nature that has happened.

Plus, Miles may be on his last roundup at LSU & won't be around much longer.

I agree with Jamos. I think he stays at Alabama until he gets a HC position or until CNS wants a change. It would be a bold move if Kirby Smart is doing this on his own with very little to gain and a lot to lose.

I believe if Kirby was/is interested in a lateral move he would have taken the UGA job a couple of years ago when it was offered.  I don't see him taking this one either...

Right, Georgia is his alma mater.
