First I've heard about this new "Coach Dana Duckworth" This came as a surprise in July. Coach Patterson needs both knees replaced. Dana Duckworth has been a longtime assistant, and she's a 1993 graduate of UA and former member of our gymnastics team. We had a fall on the beam, but still got a 49.050 score, compared to Arizona's 47.850 on the floor in the third rotation. We have a very solid lead (146.925 - 145.550).

That's not a bad start to the season. We had some mistakes, but hopefully we will continue to improve as a team and grow from this meet tonight. I imagine there were a lot of first meet jitters for everyone. Coach Patterson was in attendance tonight, by the way. Winning by nearly two points in this sport is a thorough whipping. Gymnastics meets are often won and lost by fractions of a point.
