Jim McElwain takes in Gators' bowl experience

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A little tailgating, a little radio, some player evaluating and a Florida win. It was just another day in the life of Jim McElwain.
The new Florida head coach, who accepted the position less than a month ago, returned to the state where he spent four seasons as Nick Saban’s offensive coordinator to watch the Gators play in the Birmingham Bowl.
The weather wasn’t ideal, but that didn’t stop McElwain from getting out Saturday morning and joining Florida fans outside Legion Field before the game.
