One of the guys was a Mack Brown holdover who had been there 17 years.  The other guy wasn't, but Strong probably put his staff together quickly last year with his late hire.

According to the story, Strong might be looking for good "recruiting" coaches, although recruiting at Texas never has been a problem, and I find that claim dubious.  Perhaps Strong is looking for someone who is better at evaluating talent, or developing talent.  Texas can get the ranked recruits, but they haven't been panning out lately.

It was the WR and TE coaches, so Strong clearly is not happy with that aspect of Texas' game.
