Title: Question on gun control Post by: cbbama99 on December 30, 2014, 05:57:47 PM OK, I figured this would be as good a pacle to ask this question as any. I was having a discussion with the wife about guns recently. I am not currently a gun owner, but I plan to rectify that situation in the months ahead. I am very much opposed to laws abridging the right to own a weapon, but I have always hesitated on the idea of assault weapons. My personal thought is that I can't understand why a civilian would need one; however, I am also not certain that someone should be PROHIBITED from owning one. So, I throw it open to everyone here, what are your thoughts on owning such weaponry? I ask this for knowledge because I honestly don't know.

Assault weapons? Tommy Guns? Hand Grenades? Poison Gas? Tanks? Atomic Bombs? The line has to be drawn somewhere. My personal opinion is that if it isn't needed for hunting, then it's only added purpose is to kill multiple persons in a quick and efficient manner, something I don't mind keeping out of the hands of today's citizens. Shot guns - yes Hunting rifles - yes Antiques & collectibles - yes Assault weapons - no I like the idea of limiting the clip size. I see no need to fire 50 or 100 shots with one pull of the trigger. I see no need to fire 50 or 100 shots with one pull of the trigger. I think this is where I stand on this as well. Kind of hard for any government to nuke their own country and survive. :lol2: Title: Re: Question on gun control Post by: XBAMA on October 14, 2015, 05:33:33 PM hot topic for sure ...
http://www.truthandaction.org/largest-felony-civil-disobedience-rally-americas-history/2/ the AR's that a citizen can buy will not shoot but one time per trigger pull if you do not have a gun now I suggest you buy one , you know before it's to late :lol2: (http://www.wnd.com/images/cartoons/toon110112.jpg) (http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r44/SouthernCoastie/motivational/second_amendment_japanese_wwii_libe.jpg) gun guide .... :lol2: (http://elizabethemkenussenate2012.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/secondamendmentguide.jpg) (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/Kanshisha/s_doors.jpg) Title: Re: Question on gun control Post by: XBAMA on October 14, 2015, 09:04:41 PM so nobody will think I am being a jackwagon smart azz
I'd like to explain ... some of you may know , the M16A1 was built by Armalite in the 1950's then later by Colt , the AR15 was what it was called , a scaled down AR10 , the AR did not stand for Assault Rifle the AR stood for "Awesome Rifle" and no the first versions were not made by the Mattel toy company :lol2: there are some other misconception on "assault rifles" examples .... (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3c/Mossberg_702_Plinkster.jpg/300px-Mossberg_702_Plinkster.jpg) same rifle with a 25 round clip (https://www.impactguns.com/Data/Default/Images/uploads/mossberg/Moss-37002-884110370020-2.jpg) same rifle with a tactical kit on it (https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSPu2L_OeUIzHt7jLC2Q-MKtkzs047cxb90X7MEKh4Ximy746MshQ) as you can see the rifle goes from a regular looking not so intimidating look to the "oh my God an assault rifle" look ! same exact gun , same exact power just one looks way more intimidating than the others , same gun though ... I equate it to putting a set of mags and wide tires on a car and maybe a racing stripe and window tint to give a "a look" is the car any faster ? no , it just looks better ... I shoot a lot ... have my whole life , taught my kids to shoot my oldest son was on a security detail for Pres. Bush on 9/11 only because of his marksmanship abilities , my youngest son is a better shot than him ... I taught them about guns and how to properly shoot one and maintain one. right now we shoot about 1000 rounds a week normally , rain or shine . if you do decide to buy a gun make sure you know how to use it , clean it and service it . not sure what experience you have under your belt with firearms but if you don't know , ask someone that does . most people I know that shoot will be more than happy to give you pointers . or if you go to a range , ask the range master for tips . there are several types of shooting you can get into rifles , pistols , shotguns , long range , short range and the list goes on we do them all , lately we have been practicing on the 300 yard stuff with the rifles . we have a great time and it is also a great stress reliever :lol2: ps , always wear eye and ear protection , it's a must you can get the ESS eye-wear kit , the same ones the USMC issues to the Marines fairly reasonable online we use the ICE series http://www.esseyepro.com/Ballistic-Eyeshields_161_category.html not trying to but into your biz , just trying to help :dunno: Title: Re: Question on gun control Post by: SUPERCOACH on October 15, 2015, 12:47:18 AM I don't know about cb but I still haven't bought a gun.
