I hadn't thought about this either. I would almost think after he came to Arkie and his words were about taking over the SEC. Bringing down Alabama and he is not really that close to even winning the WEST. I wonder if Nebraska being in the Big 10 and he used to have Wisconsin beating the teams there, that might draw him back to the conference there. It wouldn't surprise me if he took it. The Big 10 is much easier than the SEC West and Nebraska might be willing to spend a little money to get rid of the Pellini train wreck.

Sounding more like a Hugh Freeze move this evening.  Should be clearer tomorrow (about whether he's a serious candidate).

I meant that Bielema might be trying to leverage his contract at Arky, rather than intend to be a candidate at Nebraska.

Bielema says his 'commitment to Arky is long term'.  Does not mention Nebraska.

FWIW, the SEC Network said late last night that Bielema was not taking the Nebraska job.

Probably wanted Bielema, Nebraska AD has ties to Bielema during their Wisconsin days, but Bielema has just starting building at Arky and wasn't wanting to start over.

But Mike Riley? 

Yeah, I had to question that, too. Oregon State has only had a couple or three good years under Riley. Not sure he will be any better than Pelini, at least record-wise.

An absolutely bizarre selection. He has done very little at Oregon State. I think Nebraska was desperate & could find no one else of any stature or more proven record than Riley. His other attraction was he was not Bo Pelini, instead he is low key & easy to get along with.

Riley is a good guy and will project a good image as the HC of a major program. I just do not think he will produce anymore wins than the coach they just fired. Nebraska screwed up this hire IMO.

I think CMR will do well at Nebraska. He did not have the facilities he will have for Nebraska and the recruits should be far better. He took a lot of left overs and won at OSU Beavers. If he takes Bo Pelini recruits and wins he will be like Les Miles was at LSU after CNS left there. When his recruits for Nebraska start playing we will see what kind of coach he is, I just can't say no to him until his time has been about 5 or 6 years. Today it takes 6 years to build that National type of team to compete with. RTR!

Seems like I remember him turning down the job at Bama, his wife didn't want to live in Alabama. :-\

He might not have much time left on his Oregon State contract.   :lol2:
