Move FSU down one more spot so they play in the Sugar Bowl instead of the Rose Bowl.Or they could make Oregon #1, Bama #2, FSU #3 and TCU #4 and get the same result. ??? No way will the SEC have 2 in the playoff. SEC fatigue is rampant! Also, it appears that strength of schedule only matters within a win-loss grouping. All of that talk about s-o-s, and the overall record is what they use for rankings. How can Michigan State be ahead of Miss State?? Title: Re: Playoff Rankings, Bama v. How can Michigan State be ahead of Miss State?? I don't think they are watching all the games. ??? This is a waste of time. Why release weekly rankings? Now they say everything will change after the conference champs are determined. So, TCU is 'rewarded' to #3 this week, but next week they could drop out if the other 3 (plus Ohio State) win their CC games. STUPID. Title: Re: Playoff Rankings, Bama v. All the explanations, moving teams up or down, the shuffling, is irrelevant -- it only matters who are the top 4 and what are the matchups. Title: Re: Playoff Rankings, Bama v. FSU Post by: Chechem on December 03, 2014, 05:52:57 AM ... I agree. I've thought that all along, releasing the rankings so early in the season. The explanation was that this was the first year, they wanted to be open to the public, needed the practice to learn what they were doing, blah blah blah. This is a waste of time. Why release weekly rankings? Now they say everything will change after the conference champs are determined. They aren't being transparent unless they tell us the votes, PERIOD. And it's DUMB to have a 4-team playoff with 5 conferences and a mandate that conference championships are the primary criterion! You don't need a committee if that's their mandate. |
