Title: Tide has 13 named to pre-season All-SEC Team Post by: pmull on July 14, 2011, 11:51:35 AM The Crimson Tide had 13 players named to the 2011 All-Southeastern Conference Coaches' Football Team, including a league leading seven first-team selections.
Barrett Jones, William Vlachos and Trent Richardson represent Alabama on offense, with Josh Chapman, Dont'a Hightower, Mark Barron and Robert Lester leading the first-team defensive selections. D.J. Fluker and Courtney Upshaw were voted second-team, with Marquis Maze, C.J. Mosley and Dre Kirkpatrick making the third-team. In addition to first-team running back, Richardson was voted second-team special teams, giving Alabama 13 total selections. I think our entire secondary could have been 1st and 2nd team. Our secondary is going to be phenomenal this year. Dre, DeQuan, Dee, Lester, and Barron are going to make some QBs look very bad. I think our entire secondary could have been 1st and 2nd team. Our secondary is going to be phenomenal this year. Dre, DeQuan, Dee, Lester, and Barron are going to make some QBs look very bad. I hope he does, because I like having BJ where he is comfortable. It is extremely rare when a true freshman can come in and start at LT. Andre Smith did it so it can be done. I have heard CK has the quick feet, size and speed to step right in. I hope he can. If BJ moves to the LT spot replacing him at RG will be much easier than replacing a LT.
