It's on pace to finish with its most fumbles in a single season under Nick Saban. >:( Title: Re: "What's disappointed Nick Saban so far? You could see the frustration on his face when he talked about this, and it's not just one or two players either. It's a problem along with all the penalties that MUST be corrected. Hopefully there has been a wake up call that has been heard by the entire team!! How they respond this week will tell if this has happened or not. We can only pray that it has!! Title: Re: "What's disappointed Nick Saban so far? The Alabama coach lays out 1 troubling issue" Post by: SUPERCOACH on October 08, 2014, 11:06:55 AM I watch ball security every game. The problem is that many of the players simply do not use the proper technique. I know the coaching staff has tried to teach them the proper technique, but when they get in the game they revert back to their old habits.
Trent Richardson is probably one of the best I have ever seen at securing the ball. I think he only had a couple of fumbles the entire time he was at Alabama, and I think we got one of them back. He used the proper technique on every play. It also helped quite a bit that his arms are as big as oak trees. Now that we have lost a game that can be directly attributed to a fumble, maybe they will "remember" to focus on ball security during the game, not just at practice when Coach Cochran is trying to take it away from them. |
