Title: Baltimore Orioles Sweep Tigers in ALDS & Royals Sweep Angels
Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 05, 2014, 08:33:35 PM
O's head to AL Championship  Series and will probably play the KC Royals, which I think is a great match up of teams who have been on the outside for many years. cc99 might be passed out in the gutter right now.

Nelson Cruz, Buck Showalter and an unheralded bunch from Baltimore swept aside Detroit's Cy Young winners.

Cruz sliced a two-run homer for his latest big postseason hit, and the Orioles held off the Tigers 2-1 on Sunday to reach the AL Championship Series for the first time since 1997.

O's are a very solid team.  Few flaws if any.  Showalter knows how to use the guys he's got.

It's official, Royals vs Orioles in the AL to battle for a trip to World Series.

Go O's. I was telling cb one time if they gave Bucky time he would build a winner. They did and he did. He is a great manager and always has been. I remember when he was hired by the Yankees and he built a good team but a losing season of no playoffs and they fired him. This was a very wrong idea but he will have the Orioles in contention every year is my Personal Opinion. RTR!

The TV networks are going crazy because they always prefer the Red Sox & Yankees in the AL & the Dodgers and maybe the Cardinals in the NL for the ratings. Let's say the Royals &  Nationals make the World Series. The network bosses will stroke out or jump out of tall buildings.

I know, and I love it. We had to listen for nearly a week to national guys telling us how the O's didn't have a chance against Detroit. That makes it all the sweeter. The Royals will be a tough matchup. They play small ball better than anyone in the league, and have a lot of speed on the base paths and a solid bullpen. We will have to play solid defense and continue to knock the cover off the ball. I say we win in 6.

I think O's have the home field so I agree. Watch for falling bodies in New York City.

Yep, we have home field, starting Friday night. I would just love to see Stankee fans in despair if we pull this whole thing off.  :lol2: :lol2:
