Receiver DeAndrew White will have a shot at returning for the 2:30 p.m. Saturday against Florida. He practiced last week and warmed up against Southern Miss after hurting his shoulder against West Virginia......

Safety Jarrick Williams' initial diagnosis called for him to miss four weeks with a broken foot suffered Aug. 30. He sat out the last two games but will have a shot, though a slim one, to get back for Saturday.

Saban said he'll be able to start running some this week in practice, but called him a long shot to play against Florida....

D White gives us a great option when/if Cooper is covered.  We need him back asap.

I don't expect either one of them to return against Florida. Of course, we could pass the ball to O.J. Howard to take pressure off Cooper.

I believe MD is right on here. It is time to start getting OJ and Brian involved in the passing game. I don't think we get through SEC part of the schedule if our TE's are not involved. Hey CNS don't spank me for this because I am an armchair coach. I CLK had some big time offenses and was get Heisman QB at USCw. I would turn him a loose and say build me an offense with what you to make big plays and move the sticks. Let our defense rest. RTR!

I agree with Cheech here. In the opener, Sims seemed to look for White a lot. Since he's been gone, its been all Cooper. I think White coming back will give Sims another option he is confident in throwing to.
As for the TE debate, patience! The best time to use the TE's is when people least expect it. Why waste great plays designed to get passes to OJ against FL Atl and So Miss?

Patience after 3 games and he has 1 catch. What are we doing , saving him for the Auburn game? How about a TE screen or some simple pass, just to show what he can do in the open field?

How I see OJ being used:  (1) Near the end zone, where his height could be a handy weapon, and a challenge for their D; (2) crossing routes where he can use his speed for yak (like a freight train, takes a bit to get the engine up to speed); (3) perhaps along the sidelines, where height also can be an advantage.

OJ has top end speed and is hard to tackle because of his size.  He doesn't necessarily have the same quickness or elusiveness as some of the WRs for the screens that make up the bulk of our passing game so far.  There's a reason these throws go to Cooper, or they put the Drake out of there from the RBs.
