Maryland bowing their necks a bit. They've stopped WVU on the last 2 drives, and just scored on a bizarre punt return for a TD. It's now 28-19 with the extra point to come, but a lot of discussion. Now they've reversed it because a fair catch was called. So it's still 28-13. Wow!

That was a crazy series of events. So you can't advance that ball since it was a fair catch, is that the call?

That's the call, but the guy calling the fair catch never touched it because of the interference from the WVU guy. How bizarre was that?

Yeah, that was very weird. Announcers seem to think they got it right, but I would have thought the returner needed to actually touch the ball.

I think the rule is once a fair catch is called the receiving team can't advance the ball.  (Otherwise, one guy could call a FC and his teammate could catch the ball and start running.)

I don't know why UCF went for it on 4th down there.  They are down 18 points, which is three scores.  A FG makes it a 2 score game.
