I just awarded everyone who is currently signed up +10 E-Cred for being here on the first day.  Then I gave +10 more to my mods.  I also gave BAMADCHAMPSHIPS another +10 for being the first person to actually register.  Terrie1959 gets +10 for being the first person to post (besides me).  Finally, ricky023 gets +10 for being the first person to start a new topic.  I think that is all for now.  I may give the entire forum another +5 tomorrow night as a bonus for the ones that sign up tomorrow.

E-Cred is a reputation system that is displayed next to your avatar.  Anyone can give you +1 E-Cred by clicking the Applaud link.  They can also take away 1 point by clicking the Boo link.  So you better be on your best behavior out there.   ;D

I don't know how useful it will be, but it seems like a good idea.  We may have to make some tweaks to how it works as we go along.

I will eventually add a box next to the Top Posters box that shows the people with the most E-Cred.

The e-cred is an interesting option.  I've never seen it, but I've seldom used forums except these for Bama.

This is the first time I have seen one exactly like this, but I have seen "reputation" systems before.  They are complicated because the more rep you have, the more people get when you give them some.  Anyway, it's interesting as long as gangs dont form.  :o

If gangs form then we shall hunt them down with our rifle thread.  ;D

I got into it with a guy on a message board one time and before I knew it about 50 people had given me negative reputation and I was so low I couldnt even post in all the forums.  I was like WTH??

Thank you, I certainly did not handle every situation perfectly.  But I tried, we all took a lot of flack.  Anyway, no reason to rehash all that, it's a new day in a new pacle.

Another +1 for the entire board.  That will probably be the last of the E-Creds for the early adopters.  We have over 100 members now and so much activity that I struggle to read all of the posts.

At the risk of sounding like a Tard, will someone explain the cred thing and how do you aquire them.

1. You may give them (no more than once every few hours per each person) by clicking applaud.
2. No, you can't give them to yourself. :P
3. People give them for wit, good insider info, advice, or just because they want to.
4. We started saying, "I gave you an e-cred", but finally just started abbreviating it with a symbol: #

"Shhhh.  They mean nothing."

Smith gets them for being ranked. CAT gets them for being an animal lover. 2S gets them so we don't all wind up in prison. Preacher gets them for volume. Terrie gets female cred. Brosky gets them for shoes. But poor old BAMAWV has to go the old fashion way and..

By the way, we really need to decide on some posting titles.  Once you get past gilmer it is just using the defaults that came with the software.  One suggestion was to use the old levels from tidesports, but I don't remember what they were.  Maybe collectively you guys can piece them together, or come up with something else if you like.  There is a thread about this somewhere.  I will go find it and sticky it.

Yep.  According to the stats page we have the male to female ratio down to 4.3 to 1, which is much better than what it was not long ago.  4 to 1 is pretty good for a sports forum I think.

I have a dilemma with the gender field.  My avatar is female; I'm (ahem, deep voice) male.  Cat would be offended to have a male symbol just beneath her (neatly manicured) whiskers.
