Aub offensive lineman Alex Kozan is expected to miss the entire 2014 season after undergoing offseason back surgery, Gus Malzahn confirmed Friday.

Malzahn called the setback a "big blow" for the offensve line. Kozan started all 14 games for the Tigers as a redshirt freshman in 2013, lining up at left guard beside All-SEC center Reese Dismukes.

"He injured his back while he was home lifting during the summer. He came back, we tried to rehab it, do some different things and he tweaked it," Malzahn said via the Ledger-Enquirer. "The doctors just felt like it was the best thing for him and his future to have surgery. He will miss the season." ...

Tough break for a true Aub.   :(

I can hear the boogs now after getting stomped in this year's IB; "If only Kozan hadn't got hurt............"
