Nick Saban lays out 3 things he needs to see from Alabama's quarterbacks as competition resumes
(http://media.al.com/alabamafootball_impact/photo/15526924-standardjpg-90daafea35f3519d.jpg)"As anxious as everybody is to know and as anxious as everybody is to find out, we can't make something happen before we get an opportunity to evaluate it fairly for everybody," Saban says.

They are:

1. "...the guy that can basically have the best judgment, decision-making, relative to doing what we need them to do."

2. "...the guy that is most accurate in throwing the ball to the right place at the right time to give guys the opportunity to make plays."

3. "...their leadership to affect other people."

"Does that mean the biggest, the fastest guy that has the strongest arm? No, it doesn't mean that. It means exactly what I said," Saban said. "And it's going to take some time and some repetition and giving some guys some opportunity to be able to sort that out." ...

Well, I didn't expect him to just say, "Coker".   :dunno:

I believe this is the most important of the three.  A qb that makes bad decisions will get us beat more times than not... Just wonder if that statement also might just be pointing specifically at a certain qb that has been with Bama for a while...

If for some reason Coker doesn't end up getting the job, was his coming to UA a mistake? Would he have a chance to transfer AGAIN to a program where he could play, or would he just be out of luck?

If he can't win the job at Bama against existing competition, he may as well hang up his cleats.

He has already used his redshirt. He has two years to complete his eligibility. One of those years is this year. If he left mid-season or at the end of the year he would have to transfer to Div II to play next year.

He at least gets a chance at Alabama. It is his job to lose. He was behind the Heisman Trophy winner at FSU. The only way he was going to play there was is if Winston gets hurt or Coker pulled a Tonya Harding and took him out.

CNS hasn't changed any of his requirements to be his starting quarterback, you've got to have it between the ears to play for him.

I hope Coker 'has it'.

It could be a long season if that is the case. ;)
