 Lord of all power and might, Author of all good things, we are poor, and frail, and needy.  We have lost our original glory; the gold is become dross.  We are guilty. Sin cleaves to our every thought, and word, and deed.  Our days are like a shadow that declines, and we are withered like grass.  Arise, O thou who endures for ever, and mercy upon us thy servants, thy children who are called by thy name.  Blot out our transgressions for thine own name’s sake.  We have gone astray like lost sheep, we have turned everyone to his own way.  Se our Help, and our Son, and our Shield, on whom thou hast laid the iniquities of us all, and for his sake graciously save us, and cleanse us from all our iniquities.
