Florida looked good. They gave up 3 quick unearned runs on two errors to go down 3-0. They got the bats going after that and won 8-4. They looked good.

Vandy also beat North Carolina 7-3 yesterday. Florida and Vandy play each other on Monday.

South Carolina plays their first round game today.

SEC looks strong so far.

That Florida offense has been clicking since the SEC Tourney, it's awesome. You're right, we have 3 excellent teams in the World Series.

It is double elimanation. Texas has played and lost one game. They are in the losers bracket and can not lose again or they are out.

Texas baseball losing 2 straight and being eliminated so soon is almost unheard of. 

Look for them to have a losing season next year, then the head coach will fire all of the assistants and start over.  :D

They said Texas has been to the College World Series 34 times and has only lost their first 2 games four times. They have a great baseball tradition.

Their ace starter has beeen plagued in the post season with Marcel Dareus nightmares.

The Florida vs Vandy game was postponed in the 6th last night with Florida up 3-1. The game will resume this morning at 10:06.

Florida beats Vandy 3-1. Vandy now plays North Carolina with the loser going home. The Vandy - North Carolina winner will have to beat Florida twice to advance to the finals. Florida only needs one more win to advance to the finals.

At the beginning of the NCAA tourney I posted something like, "teams are on their own and conference affiliation no longer matter".  But I had no idea the SEC was going to be this strong. Even Miss St. went deeper than expected.

South Carolina plays their second round game tonight. It could be an all SEC final. I hope so. South Carolina won the CWS last year.

Once was painful enough. I would hate to see USCe get bragging rights to back-to-back championships. It woulld also look better for SEC to have a new winner, either UF or even Vandy.

I don't have a problem with So. Carolina winning the CWS again, they have such a crappy sports history this would be nice for them. However, I think Florida is just too strong. THey have great hitting and solid pitching. USC plays Virgina tonight and VA. was the 2nd ranked team going into the Series. Good game to watch.

I do not want USCe to win again either unless they are the last SEC team standing. I prefer Vandy but Florida looks to be the best team. Florida baseball and softball are the best hitting programs in the NCAA.

Maybe we can start a tradition of SEC teams winning 5 consecutive Series championships in a row.  ;)

Looking around he SEC it could be Alabama, LSU, Florida, Vandy, USC, & Miss. State. All solid programs.

I don't see Cal beating any of the SEC schols. Vandy has too much pitching and USC & Florida are just too good.

The SEC makes up 50% of the field now that two teams have been eliminated. The SEC is 4-1 with the only loss being to another SEC team. USCe needs to win tonight.

Vandy has made 2 major screwups, The Vandy runner at 3rd should have scored on the rundown at second base and the Vandy firstbaseman should have thrown the ball home when Fla scored their run from third.

I would like to see Vandy win this one.

I just came back from SC. Their fans didn't want them to have to play Virginia again.

I have been telling people on this board (mainly MD) that Virginia is a good team. They were ranked # 1 most of the year and they are the # 1 seat in the CWS. USCe should be worried. However, I do not think they will beat USCe twice. I think we will have an all SEC final.

Really disappointed by the Vandy loss today. That sits an SEC team down. Further, of UF, USCe, and Vandy, I hate Vandy the least.

You got it. SC survives a bases loaded nobody out situation with a strike out and a liner to the 2nd baseman who tossed to the SS at 2nd for the DP to end the top of the 13th. Great play. 2-2 to the bottom of the 13th.

SC does it again on 2 wild throws after bunts. Final , 3-2 Cocks. SC was flat tonight, but again found a way to win. SEC is undefeated against non SEC teams in the CWS and will stay that way since the championship series is FL vs SC. Best CWS ever.

USCe manages to beat UVA (13 innings).  But what was that goofball rally cap display of immaturity. They may go on to win the CWS, but that silly crap shows, yet again, that the University of South Carolina does not take their sports serious on an SEC level. An embarrassment to our conference.

This is baseball at a high level. Good high school programs show more maturity than USCe. A simple rally cap, maybe. Scripted routines are for the ladies.

AAA is where players go that are not good enough to make the Big League. AA is where the action is. Young players on their way up play AA and skip AAA most of the time. The best you get in AAA is players rehabing after being hurt.

USC has gone to its bullpen. Unfortunately, their best reliever is probably not available. He threw 95 pitches against Vandy on Friday. Still 1-0 Florida.

The Florida pitcher reminds me of Glavine/Maddox. He has great control and he has great location. His pitches are like 81 mph, just like them.

This has been a great game. How SC got out of that bases loaded with no outs, was unbelievable. May have gotten a good call there at first, very close.

SC does it again. Great throw at the plate to get the third out in the bottom of the 10th.

Maddux was great, he could pitch a complete game in 2 hours.

I actually saw him and Glavine pitch complete games in an hour and 45 minutes and throw a total of 89 to 95 pitches. Incredible. What a duo.

I haven't seen a team choke as much as Florida in a Championship Series in a L-O-N-G time. I can't believe al the screwups the last two nights. Amazing. Hand it to USC, the play tough in the clutch and when the pressure is on.

Congratulations to the South Carolina Gamecocks on their repeat as CWS National Champions.  And to my good friends Lawzoo and Jody Baker, enjoy the thrill of being a National Champion.  It was especially nice to beat the Gators. :D

I don't care what the sport is, winning the National Championship is big, and winning back-to-back is huge. Great going USC, you make the SEC proud. Florida had a great year but they wilted under the pressure.

I would say imo baseball is the 3rd most significant NC and certainly a great achievement.  Congrats to jody and all the rest of the fighting palm trees.

Yep.  It is almost always nice to see the Gators lose to another SEC team (excepting the Barn and Vols).  SC played with grit and mental toughness.

Perhaps one year UF will join other SEC teams with a NC in baseball, but not this year!

Hey Jody and Law, I know everybody else has offered congrats, but I wanted to offer mine, too. Your boys are one of the scrappiest teams I have ever seen. They just won't quit, and that is one of the best things you can say about any team. That is a heck'uva accomplishment to go back-to-back.

Perfect description of their Series play. Tough, gritty, determined, and never give up. Great team.
