Title: SEC Keeps 8-Game FB Sched

I can't follow all this.  So Bama-Tenn and Barn-UGA are preserved, but what about LSU-Gators and other such games?

And how will the rotation vs. SEC East now work?  Is there a rotation?

I like the way the LSU AD uses selective stats to justify his arguments. He forgets UT was a powerhouse in the 1990's, early 2000's but whines about having to play Florida. I would love to see UT bop LSU next time they play.

Quote
"I'm disappointed in the fact that the leadership of our conference doesn't understand the competitive advantage permanent partners give to certain institutions," Alleva said Sunday. "I tried to bring that up very strongly at the meeting today. In our league we share the money and expenses equally but we don't share our opponents equally.

"Since 2000 LSU has played Florida and Georgia 19 times and Alabama has played them eight times. That is a competitive disadvantage. There are a lot of other examples."

The AD from LSU obviously has valid concerns.  UK has just as big of a cross-divisional opponent comparatively speaking but I didn't see where their AD had a problem with the current model.

The Bama - UT and barn-UGA are are traditional rivalries. They have been going on for many years. Most of the others are appointed rivals that do not have the same meaning. There was a proposal to keep the Bama-UT and barn - UGA rivalries and rotate all other non division teams. It did not pass.

All 14 schools had a vote. LSU lost. The LSU AD needs to shut up and stop embarrassing his school at this point. It is only one game a year. All other non division games rotate evenly.

BINGO!! LSU's "rival" has historically been Ole Miss, that's LSU's idea of a rival and now they have to play Florida, a real football team.

Here's a crazy thought: Work hard to put the best team on the field and embrace a high level of competition rather than complaining about it.  I know of a coach who takes that approach and it's worked pretty well for him.

Plus, Florida hasn't exactly been playing at a high level since Saban crushed Meyer's heart.
