It should be a great match between McIlroy and Yang today. If they don't get any rain today and the course starts to dry out some, I look for the scores to be a little higher.

What's happened to our long dominance in golf and tennis? We've got the best facilities and more young people in the sports. Not enough dedication to put in the hours of work needed?

Maybe it should be re-named "U.S. Closed"

Like him or not, the game needs a healthy, resurgent Tiger back.

I think golf needs a superstar and I think they have found one, hopefully this one can keep his pants zipped up.  ;)

It will be interesting to see if McIlroy can shoot under par tomorrow.

Were you watching when they talked about Cauley today?

Forget no Tiger, I tried to watch yesterday but the HD signal sucked so I had to watch regular D.  I felt like I was watching golf channel highlights.  I dont like the golf channel style coverage.  The amount of commercials was absurd.  And on top of everything else it's not close.  US Open fail.

I bet ratings are the lowest in a long time.

This US Open has turned into NASCAR ... I find myself waiting for "the big one" ... Not a good way to build the image of the post-Tiger era.

Too many commercials and human interest stories. The NBC coverage sucks.

While McIlroy parred out, his play fell off some in the final several holes. This reminds me of a point I made back on TS. When Yang began spraying shots it affected RM's laser precision edge.  Most golfers at all levels always fall into the same groove. You have a tendency play to the level of competition around you. Sometimes it brings you up, sometimes down.

Did anyone notice the golf cap handoff to Rory for the presentation ceremony. His caddy handed him a new hat on the 18th after he holed out. Some kind of pre-set marketing agreement?

The NBC phone interview with Nicholas spoke volumes about RM's character and his future in pro golf. Nicholas was gushing with compliments for the lad.

This young man has a chance to have a fantastic career and set many records but I don't think he will ever out do this performance, he was unbelievable.  #+
