Offensive lineman Richie Petitbon committed to Alabama on Friday, according to a report from Rivals.com. Petitbon, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound four-star prospect from Washington D.C.'s Gonzaga High School, chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Penn State, and more than 20 other schools.

Why is that name so familiar? Wasn't there an NFL player with the same name, once upon a time?  ???

His grandfather played for the Bears, Rams, and Redskins in the 60s and 70s, and was a coordinator under Joe Gibbs at Washington in the 80s. The kid has a good pedigree.

Thanks, CB. I knew I had heard the name before.

All well and good. We have all the talent in the world. So why are we unsettled at QB, unhappy with the DL, concerned about pass coverage.....   It's all about making the training and discipline and leadership happen at this point.

He was ricky, but he may have been an even better defensive coordinator for Gibbs. He coached Darrell Green (who in my opinion is one of the best corners ever), Dexter Manley, Charles Mann, and Wilber Marshall.
