To make our win even sweeter the barn got beat by Missouri 4-2. The barn also lost last night so Missouri wins the series and goes for the sweep tomorrow.

Saturday's game with Ole Miss will be televised at 6:05 on CSS.

Ole Miss #9 in the country. The SEC has 4 teams in Top Ten and 7 in the Top 25. We need more wins like this one to improve our status. Great win!

It was a great game. I watched it on CSS. A walk off single in the 10th to beat #9 Ole Miss is sweet. We had another good night on the mound. We only gave up 3 earned runs to a hard hitting Ole Miss team. We had 4 costly errors but we were able to overcome them.

We win the series and go for the sweep this afternoon. We are 18-8 (5-3) and our RPI is rising. Our RBI has climbed to 24. We started this series at 46.

That's a heck of an improvement. I hope they get the series sweep today. They are playing with a lot of confidence right now.

Exactly, they could have folded their tent more than once, like one of their fans, but they didn't. ;)

Our pitching is outstanding. Our hitting is much better this year. We are only hitting for a team average of about .272 and balls are not flying out of the park but we are consistently hitting the ball hard. That is a big change from the weak infield outs we were known for the last two years. There are some very good freshmen and sophomores on this team.

The batting average is much better now than at the first of the year and so is the pop in the bats. They are showing steady improvement in every facet of the game except for maybe defense, and I hope that improves as they go along.

Yes, success breeds success.
But, remember: we won each of the past 2 games by one run. 
It's a narrow shelf upon which to load praise.

We lost the previous 2 SEC games by one-run each too.  :(

Five of the eight games we have lost have been by one run. I'll take a one run conference win and be happy about it.

Me too.  One-run games are good indicators of excellence in coaching and pitching more than hitting, but it takes all 3.

And having a home-game, last-at-bat opportunity helps too.  :unsure:

We are 3-1 in extra inning games. We were 3-5 last year and 0-4 the year before. We have won two others in the bottom of the ninth with walk off hits. Just another sign our team is improving.

Sunday Game 3

Alabama is up 3-1 with Ole Miss batting in the 8th with 1 out and a runner on 1st.

Alabama leads 3-1 with Ole Miss coming to bat in the 9th. Three quick outs is what we need.

Bama wins 3-1 to complete the sweep.

Jon Keller gets the complete game win. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 3. Keller goes to 5-1 on the year. He been a reliable Sunday starter so far this year.

Bama goes to 19-8 overall, 6-3 SEC.

After three weeks of SEC play Alabama is in first place.
