Early session scores are horrible.  All four second session teams are well on the way to beating them.

Florida's 99.000 through two rotations is about the best you'll ever see.  Our 98.700 is really strong, but Florida may be too much.

Bama puts up a STRONG 49.525 on the vault in their third rotation.  By comparison, Florida has a 49.375 on the vault in an earlier rotation.

Through 3 rotations:

Florida    148.350
Alabama    148.225
Georgia    148.100
L.S.U.    147.800

We cut Florida's lead from .300 to .125, however Georgia caught up as well.  We have the bars left, Florida has the floor, and Georgia has the beam.  It's going to be close.

Florida has a girl falter and score a 9.200 on the floor.  :)  They do get to dump one score, but that still puts pressure on the remaining girls.

BTW, the Nationals are in Birmingham at the BJCC this year.  Anyone in the area should go root for Coach Patterson to win her 7th (I think that's right, and it would also put her above Coach Bryant for most NC's by a Bama coach).

Coach Patterson's team has been improving each week. I thought they were peaking at the right time.

It is a big advantage for the SEC teams to have the SEC Championship in the BJCC since the National Championship will also be in that venue. Because it is in B'ham is a big advantage for Alabama.

The No. 4 ranked Alabama gymnastics team used a huge final rotation at the Southeastern Conference Championships held in Birmingham, Ala., Saturday night to win its eighth SEC Championship.

"This one, this one is about the ring," an elated Sarah Patterson told the gathered media after her team lifted the trophy.

Alabama scored a 197.875 in front of a raucous crowd of 8,256 in the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center to push past No. 1 Florida, which scored a 197.700. No. 2 ranked LSU was third with a 197.325 and No. 6 Georgia took fourth with a 197.150.

"We're going to enjoy this for a day or two," Patterson said. "Then we're going to focus on the most important meet of the year. That's the regional championship because that's the one that's going to get us back to Birmingham.

That's appropriate since Coach Bryant hired her when she was like 23 years old. He definitely saw something in her.

E-cred to HL for keeping us up. What a come back, man glad to see another SEC Championship on the roll of our sports teams. Anybody have a gander at what we might do in the Nationals? I know some keep up closer than I do. RTR!
