Title: Greg McElroy retires from NFL

I hate to hear it, but I think that he would make a great analyst, if that's the path he chooses.

That is a shame, but as smart as Greg is, he will be able to do whatever he wants.

He may be the only QB to retire with a perfect record as a starter. He is 1-0 as a result of a
7-6 win as a Jet in his only start.

I feel sure he has many career options. He will do well for himself whether he stays involved in sports or goes into private business.

I read yesterday a tweet from Bruce Feldman that said he could be the next Kirt Herbstreit.

The difference being McElroy won a National Championship at QB & played for a coaching legend & was surrounded by All Americans. Herbstreit' biggest achievement was leading Ohio State to a tie against Michigan & losing to Georgia in the Citrus Bowl. Greg will most definitely be able to relate on what winning is all about and playing in big games. I can only imagine the Saban stories.

I can not argue that the Jets management sucks but he retired from the Bengals where he was on the practice squad all of last year.

Greg no matter, you could have been a great starting QB but you will do well what ever you choose. Just remember RTR!

If I'm not mistaken, those 3 games in 2010 are the only games he ever lost as a starter since he started playing when he was 8 years old.

It will be interesting to see how ESPN uses him. The SEC Network will have a lot of air time to fill when games are not being shown.

The times I have seen him on TV or radio he is very good. I think this will fit his personality perfectly.
