Title: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 22, 2014, 12:06:42 AM Wow, some really fascinating match-ups today in the Tournament. The very first game at 11:15 am on CBS could be a barn burner, Florida v Pitt. Then, a couple of hours later we have St. Louis & Louisville. Then, starting around 4:30 we will have several games overlapping on CBS, TBS, & TNT starting with Texas/Michigan. Great day for some interesting basketball.
:popcorn2: Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 22, 2014, 09:27:04 AM The Pitt/Florida game features an interesting contrast. Pitt i very physical whole UF is quick. shoots from the outside, and pays good D. Pitt can push you around & has a good center who can score. Pitt can redeem itself with a win against #1 UF.

Quote It was stated from the beginning that the odds of picking a perfect NCAA tournament bracket were 9.2 quintillion-to-1, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that there aren't any left among the ESPN-record 11 million-plus entries in the ESPN Tournament Challenge. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/2014/story/_/id/10650036/number-perfect-ncaa-men-tournament-brackets-dwindling Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on March 22, 2014, 01:44:15 PM Florida is gaining steam, I think. Billy will have his boys playing championship ball by the Final Four.
Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: pmull on March 22, 2014, 02:04:49 PM Florida won easily.
Louisville - St Louis playing now. Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 22, 2014, 02:56:50 PM Which team do you think pulls an upset today if any? I think Dayton takes out Syracuse. I see no way Texas can beat Michigan. Plus, I think Michigan State destroys Harvard. Oregon/Wisconsin I have to think about.
:dog: Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: pmull on March 22, 2014, 02:58:16 PM Louisville up 25-16 at the half.
This game and the Florida game is very low scoring due to great defensive play. Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: pmull on March 22, 2014, 03:03:05 PM I thought we would have more afternoon games on. They are all late this afternoon or tonight.
Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on March 22, 2014, 03:05:51 PM I was surprised by that too, pmull. Usually Saturday primetime isn't a big TV draw.
The Dodgers come on tonight at 9 as well, so I'll be busy flipping channels for sure. Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 22, 2014, 03:09:03 PM I thought we would have more afternoon games on. They are all late this afternoon or tonight. They do that to get more viewers. It's Saturday and a lot of folks are out and about like the lake, river, etc. More folks are at home at 6 pm & later. :popcorn2: Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: pmull on March 22, 2014, 03:10:16 PM I was surprised by that too, pmull. Boston and New York were on ESPN this week and I only watched a couple of innings and switched to Netflix. We are only a little over a week away from opening day. Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: pmull on March 22, 2014, 03:21:45 PM St Louis is coming back. They trail Louisville 27-24 at the under 16 minute break.

They trail Louisville 27-24 at the under 16 minute break. 25 minutes of BB and they are averaging 1 point a minute each. Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on March 22, 2014, 03:26:33 PM I was surprised by that too, pmull. The Dodgers and Diamondbacks are playing a real game from Australia (as they did yesterday). We have the best record in baseball at 1-0! Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: pmull on March 22, 2014, 03:36:11 PM Louisville up 35-33 with 11:42 to play.
I have Louisville going a long way. I hope they can finish this game strong. They are getting out played in the 2nd half. San Diego State is a mystery to me. Their SOS is 107, not exactly awe-inspiring. They have 2 good wins for the season, but they went 29-4 to get the "experts" attention. The "experts" think they are a great team. ??? Michigan is having their way with Texas. They red hot from the field and playing solid defense. I have them in the Final Four, too. Don't know if that's a good thing, though. ;) Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: pmull on March 22, 2014, 06:32:20 PM It looks like Michigan will advance. I have them going to the Elite 8 losing to Louisville. Based on what I saw today Michigan looked better than Louisville.
I think Michigan has a good draw withe the Tenn - Mercer winner. Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 22, 2014, 06:50:33 PM It looks like Michigan will advance. I'm going with UT. Too big, fast, & physical for Mercer. :dunno: Title: Re: NCAA Tournament Saturday Games Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 22, 2014, 09:01:48 PM Down goes Syracuse! A fitting end to a strange season for 'Cuse. They started off going 25-0 ranked #1 then lost to an awful, and I mean awful BC team. They then lost 3 more games, including in the ACC Tourney. Very strange occurrence. Dayton is for real.
