“Upon his return to the hotel room about midnight, Plaintiff was viciously physically attacked by Defendant Wilson Love who jumped on Plaintiff without any provocation, assaulted and beat Plaintiff with his fists,” according to the complaint. “Plaintiff was beaten to the extent that he passed out, his nose was broken, his teeth were loosened, his face was lacerated and he received other injuries.”

McKenna, 23, is requesting $100,000 compensation and for a jury to determine punitive damages. He claims that he incurred $14,000 in medical expenses for treatment of the injuries.

According to the lawsuit, McKenna underwent surgery for a broken nose, chipped and loosened teeth.

I call this another sad moment in the life of college mates. I don't know the truth of anything, but I do know that the U of A is going to be put down again for this stuff. JMHO. Stop it you guys, no wonder we can not beat Okla. We need brothers as team mates who are ready to step up and carry another mates load. RTR!

Wilson Love would be a junior this year but he is not coming back. He graduated in December and not with the team any longer.

It happened at a fraternity event at The Hotel Erwin on Venice Beach which is in Los Angles according to Goggle. That would be a heck of a trip for a winter formal.  :dunno:

I am beginning to think that immediately after the last snap of the football season coach signs papers kicking everyone off the team. If someone goes Fulmer Cup in the off season, they say "we had already let him go".

Not a bad strategy.  Tell them that if they stay out of trouble we will let them back on the team for spring practice.  Then do it again over the summer.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – A little more than 24 hours after a University of Alabama student sued former Crimson Tide defensive lineman Wilson Love for $100,000 over an alleged 2012 beating, Love's attorney has vowed to vigorously defend him against claims he called unfounded.

Love is being sued for allegedly assaulting his fraternity brother Connor McKenna after a night of drinking in Los Angeles during UA's 2012 Spring Break.

Robert Prince, the same attorney who recently beat a similar case filed against Kristen Saban, called McKenna's charges "spurious" in a release Monday and said he would file a motion to dismiss the case against Love in the next 30 days.

"The fact Mr. McKenna waited almost two years to file these allegations against Wilson speaks to their lack of merit," Prince said. "As we all know, a person can include almost anything in his allegations in an effort to draw public attention or get a quick settlement, whether the allegations are true or not.  However, proving these unsupported assertions will be another matter entirely."

Prince, an attorney for Tuscaloosa's Law Firm of Prince, Glover and Hayes, will take on local lawyer James D. Smith, who is representing McKenna. The civil suit will be adjudicated by circuit judge Brad Almond. Saban's case was heard by circuit judge Jim Roberts.

Nice try sir but this lawsuit shall pass into nothingness!!!

McKenna probably waited this long to see if Love was going to make it to the NFL and try for a bigger pay day.
