Elvis Aaron Presley[a] (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer, musician, and actor. One of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, he is often referred to as "the King of Rock and Roll", or simply, "the King".

Elvis was a strange dude. I was a little young for Elvis in his prime and did not care much for "Fat Elvis".

Several years ago I read a book written by one of his body guards. It was a good book. Elvis was real paranoid thinking everyone was out to get him but he was generous to the people he liked and trusted.

Don't forget "Elvis the pelvis."  I saw him perform in Mobile during his last year. Overweight but his voice as powerful and perfect as always.
