A bit surprising coming from Doyel. He has not shown much love for Bama in the past.

I think everyone is ready to say goodbye to the BCS format and start a playoff. I expect the 4 team playoff will be so popular it will not take long to expand to 8 teams. College football fans are tired of the bowl system and not getting to see the best teams play each other. If the playoff started this year we would not be the No. 1 seed but we would be the favorite to win.

I know the economy is bad but I have been surprised at the poor attendance at the bowls. I have not seen a sold out game yet. The Rose Bowl crowd was 95,000 but that stadium holds over 100,000. It is past time to give the bowls a makeover and start a playoff system.
