Title: UNC Basketball Troubles
Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 19, 2013, 11:39:29 PM
Now I know why UNC BB has struggled this year. I thought Hairston had been reinstated. McDonald will be an asset.

Hairston had a well-documented summer. He was pulled over twice by the police, both times he was driving vehicles rented by Fats Thomas, a convicted felon, who last month reached a plea deal for a previous arrest.

Anyone named "Fats" already sounds like a criminal.

well, this is surprising.

North Carolina coach Roy Williams on Friday called the unceremonious end to P.J. Hairston's playing career "probably the most difficult and saddest thing I've gone through as a head coach."

After holding Hairston out the first 10 games this season while investigating potential rules violations, the school announced Friday that it would not seek his NCAA reinstatement.

I guess struggled is a relative term.

UNC has had 3 wins over top 11 teams; #3 Louisville, #1 Michigan State, and #11 UK and losses to Belmont, UAB, and Texas.

Interestingly, they are plagued by many of the same problems as BAMA; poor free throw shooting, lack of energy, and inconsistent player performance.

McDonald's first game back was v. UT and they lost.

Roy is not a great coach.  UNC draws good players.

Unfortunately, Hairston is just another in a recent and increasingly long line of prima donnas that have come through Chapel Hill.

In addition to the driving violations/parking tickets and the large amount of drugs found during one traffic stop a handgun of unknown origin was also found in the grass beside the vehicle in which Hairston was an occupant.

Fats' boys know, don't get caught with drugs and a gun.
