Title: Bama vs OU Post by: hscoach on December 08, 2013, 10:07:45 PM I am going to let you know right now I am worried about the bowl game. The main reason is the game vs Utah a few years ago. When Bama lost the chance to play for a NC it seemed they lost their motivation. Is this going to happen again?

Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: Sqwig on December 08, 2013, 10:15:20 PM I think this team is different. Mindset has changed a lot since then. AJ, CJ, others don't want to leave with a loss.
Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: hscoach on December 08, 2013, 10:21:46 PM You think Stoops is rethinking those comments he made about the SEC?
Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: Jamos on December 09, 2013, 06:03:04 AM You think Stoops is rethinking those comments he made about the SEC? I think this Bama team will make a huge statement to Stoops but it won't be with their mouths, it will be on the playing field. Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: Chechem on December 09, 2013, 06:10:10 AM I am going to let you know right now I am worried about the bowl game. Last time we lost to the Boogers, we crushed MSU 49-7. This will be a game to enjoy. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: pmull on December 09, 2013, 08:19:29 AM Our program has come a long way since 2008. We have not lost a bowl game since the embarrassing loss to Utah.

So very true pmull! I think we repeat the 2010 performance against Mich St. We show up ready to play mentally and physically!! When Bama lost the chance to play for a NC it seemed they lost their motivation. Is this going to happen again? I think Coach is referring to going to the "Sugar Bowl" after the big loss to the fighting T-Bo's the team just didn't want to be there and it showed aka the Sugar Bowl blues Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: McBaman on December 09, 2013, 07:06:58 PM I think hscoach has a point. Yes we've come a long way from the Utah game, and we have more/better leadership on this team, (which we also had for the IB game....) When we lost the IB in 2010 we were not undefeated, ranked #1, and trying for a third straight NC. So IMHO, the impact of this year's IB loss is greater.
I don't know how much of a funk the players are in. I hope leaders & coaches can get them ready to play. You guys are right that seniors don't want to go out on a loosing note. We are ranked #3; play well in the Bowl game and we could end up #2. Not #1 but a lot of other teams would love to be in that spot. Hopefully that's some motivation. I could not have said it better myself. Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: ALTideUp on December 09, 2013, 09:34:24 PM It's simple. For everybody else this is the last game of this year. For Bama, it's the first game of next year. The process is in effect. The coach was in a chopper hunting 5-stars before the last of the TP was cleaned up down on the farm. The world is gonna have to get used the fact that bad years for us are 12-1 years. OU doesn't have a prayer.
Title: Re: Bama vs OU Post by: lstephen on December 09, 2013, 11:02:08 PM I do hope that the players come out motivated. I'd be lyin' if I said that the last Sugar Bowl performance against Utah didn't haunt me. I do have confidence in the process, though and hope this is a reprise of the MSU 49-7 beatdown. ROLL TIDE!!!!
