Title: BOWL MATCHUPS Post by: cbbama99 on December 08, 2013, 08:41:35 PM There are going to be some really good matchups this year, but I wanted to start this off by congratulating Coach Jim McElwain on getting his Colorado State Rams to a bowl game this year. #+
Title: Re: BOWL MATCHUPS Post by: ricky023 on December 08, 2013, 09:22:26 PM I am also glad to hear he did that. Where he is coaching he doesn't have the tools that we have well done Coach Mc.  , RTR!

Not that I am not appreciative and impressed by our 11 wins. I am. But I'm still in a foul mood. I want to see us put it on OU the way we did to MSU the last time "this" happened.

The Pinstripe? The Bronx? I think Bama convinced bowls to avoid the Irish. Title: Re: BOWL MATCHUPS Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 08, 2013, 09:49:53 PM Notre Dame vs. Rutgers (6-6) in the Pinstripe Bowl in the Bronx? The Pinstripe? The Bronx? I think Bama convinced bowls to avoid the Irish. Pathetic, ain't it? I thought the same thing. The Irish are 8-4, but looked bad even when winning. They have taken a HUGE step backwards. :lol2: Title: Re: BOWL MATCHUPS Post by: cbbama99 on December 09, 2013, 07:18:16 AM There is usually one BCS matchup every year that leaves you with a  feeling. That is the Fiesta Bowl this year. Central Florida versus Baylor? Really?

I don't think the score board operator could keep up. I don't think the score board operator could keep up. This is the last year of the BCS. Next year is playoffs and bowl tie-ins. I think this year is better than most for bowl games in the past few years, mostly because the Northern Illinois didn't crash the BCS party. NIU is so irrelevant CP and I don't even know who beat them. Title: Re: BOWL MATCHUPS Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 09, 2013, 11:43:22 AM One site was predicting the winners of the BCS bowls and they had Tide winning 45-10. Talk about a slap down of Big 12 football.

The midday show is a local guy named Rob Long and his co-host is the former Redskins GM Vinnie Cerrano. They started talking about the bowl games and they came on the subject of toughness, related especially to Wisconsin. Cerrano said he thought Wisconsin would pound whoever they played in their bowl game (poking fun at Long, who is a USCe fan). Cerrano, if you didn't know, is a ND alum and former employee. Long poked back by saying, "At least we ain't playing Rutgers in Yankee Stadium."
In our old parlance here on the board, "BLOOM!!!!"
