Yeah, it's usually a good barometer for me as to how the rest of the week goes. If I lose, I usually close well on Saturday night. If I win, the opposite applies.  :lol2:

The line is 16 points on the UCF Rutgers game, which is why I left it off.  But I usually do like Thursday games.

What about the Northern Illinois/Toledo game? Toledo is 7-3 with losses to Florida (before the injuries), Missouri (with James Franklin at QB) 38-23, & Ball State. It's a Wednesday night game. I think this could be a very interesting game, since N. Illinois is undefeated.

I agree about the N. Ill. v. Toledo game.  The line is only 3 points, so Vegas must think it will be close.

I also agree about the Wisconsin Minnesota game, but Vegas doesn't see it that way.

Minnesota beat Nebraska & Penn State but had an ugly loss to Michigan. The Big Ten is so pathetic in the eyes of the voters & fans. I still like their game against Wisconsin, plus I will stick with N. Illinois/Toledo. I hope we hear some more opinions about these games.

I think these are the best & most interesting games. N. Illinois is undefeated and will probably be rated between 12-15th in polls and Toledo can be a tough game. It's a Wednesday game so some folks may not like that. A couple of the SEC games are total dogs.

Northern Illinois is #20 in AP poll.

I'm not sold on Wisconsin/Minnesota @ 14 points.  It's a meaningless game, and I think an easy pick.

The SEC dog games are dog fights:  Mississippi State v. Arkansas and TN v. Vandy.  Both have very low lines, 2 or 3 points.  So while meaningless in the big picture, certainly they test your SEC knowledge.  MS St. v. Arky sees who has an SEC win this season.  Vandy and TN are pretty decent teams, and it's an interesting matchup.  I like both, but we can drop Ms St v. Arky if no one wants it.

If Duke wins out, they play in the ACC Championship game.  They just have to beat Wake Forest and then NC State, so that is a big impact game, with only 5 point line.

We just picked Nebraska, and that game with Penn State is totally meaningless.

Really not too excited about the Northern Illinois game, but I understand the reason for considering it.  I won't be watching it.

I guess it's a matter of individual tastes. I would rather watch a potentially interesting game that means something (N. Ill./Toledo) than an SEC game which I consider boring and dull, like Arky/MSU. However, it appears a couple of folks enjoy an SEC game better than a competitive game with some BCS implications.
I just wish more folks would respond. I guess they are afraid we will slap them.

Just my 2 cents, but Wednesday is the worst night for TV. To have a dog in the hunt that plays on Wednesday night would be a good thing, IMO.

I usually don't say much about the games because I don't watch all of them anyway, I think you guys do a pretty good job. If I would suggest a game it might be the Tenn and Vandy game. Vandy has done well this year and it would give me one more chance to root against Tenn this season. :dunno:

There is always a split of opinion -- some want SEC games, some want something else.  I personally think the whole N. Ill. to the BCS is bogus, but unfortunately that is the current state of things.  If we drop Arky/MS St. and add the Wed game, that a good compromise for you?

FYI, Vegas has the UCLA/AZ ST. game at 3:30, but nothing yet on ESPN.  Other sites suggest 9:30 pm on the PAC12 network, but I cannot imagine a game against two ranked teams which could determine the PAC12 South wouldn't be more public.  Anyway, it appears TV is still being worked out.

No line on the Bama game.  I'm not expecting one.

Folks were saying the same thing about Thursday night games, but that's working out okay. We would be limiting ourselves too much if we just picked Saturday games. Plus, 19 posters have made selections for this week's games.

The fact that it is Wednesday is not the problem.  The problem is that it is outside the norm and people aren't expecting it, so they don't get their picks put in on time.  Once we started doing Thursday games every week people knew ahead of time and it was no longer an issue.  The surprise aspect of it this week is the problem.  At least now they can still pick the other 9 games when they come by.  In the beginning if you missed the first game you missed the whole week.

Can you PM all members with a mass mailing?  Possible?

I did enjoy the game last night, mainly because it WAS on the pickem. Also I look forward to the Duke game, Cutcliff has that team playing pretty good and it would be interesting to see Duke play FSU without JW in the  ACC championship game :-[

After further consideration, I just changed my pick from the Vols to Vandy.  I'm happy with my other picks.  We will see how that works out.
