Alabama, meanwhile, has been piling up points thanks to improved offensive line play, efficient throws by AJ McCarron and a never-ending stream of playmakers on the perimeter. Alabama has outscored opponents 151-0 in the first half since its Sept. 14 game at Texas A&M and punted just five times in the entire month of October... Lots to think about. We finally have a worthy opponent. :popcorn2: :popcorn2: Title: Re: "The 5 biggest storylines as Alabama-LSU game week officially kicks off" Post by: Jamos on November 03, 2013, 06:08:56 AM Except for Chattanooga, Bama will be challenged the rest of the season. Hopefully some have healed and they are mentally sharp.

In Nov we've got LSU to start and the Barn to end -- two tough games, hopefully followed by the SECCG which will be vs. another good team. After LSU, a letdown vs. MSU is always possible but to me the bigger worry is injuries in that game. We'll take some heat for Chattanooga, but in this stretch it's good that it's there. Could be important healing time before the last two games.
And of course -- of course!!! -- Barn has an open week before the Iron Bowl. But first, gotta take care of biz with LSU. I'm not sure if our young secondary can stop the new and improved Mettenberger. That will be the key to the game IMO.

They've been so successful with fake punts and such; certainly they'll try it all this year! I'm not sure if our young secondary can stop the new and improved Mettenberger. That will be the key to the game IMO. I suspect that the plan is for the DLs and LBs to do the stopping, not the secondary. Set the defense to suggest an obvious first read, apply strong enough pressure that he has to go with the first read (which we will have covered), throw it away, or eat it. Time in the pocket is where we have to have our effect on Mettenberger. |
