It kind of looks like something my dog did to the yard, but surely they ruled that out. Or maybe they ruled it out.

I have a buddy in Basking Ridge. Former Bama, all-SEC wrestler. I emailed him to get me some samples for SS to do analysis. They can't pull one over on CRS.

Something like this.  Most certainly not from the sky.  I suspect neighborhood kids.  If it wasnt sabotage perhaps something associared with a buried line in the area.  If you look at the top of the hole it you can see what could have been an old trench.

Hoax. I am surmising an explosion/impact would have thrown dirt and rocks past the perimeter of the hole. Also guess that some rocks would have been blown in half, leaving "clean" edges exposed. Still no response from my Jersey guy.
