I won't be a bit surprised if Mizzou wins this one. Georgia spent a lot of energy and lost some key players against Tenn but they are at home if that means anything.

I posted earlier in the week that I thought it would be an interesting game. I think Mizzou gives them all they can handle, with UGa reeling from all the injuries.

Guess we'll learn whether undefeated Mizzou is Miss State 2012 or a contender.  They haven't really played anyone yet (Vandy?), so I think UGA handles them.  Can UGA put up a 10-pt victory??

Missouri has beaten Murray State, Toledo, Indiana, Arkansas State and Vandy. There is not a good win in the bunch.

I think it will be an interesting game but even with all the injuries and fatigue I think UGA will beat them. If the game was in Columbia I might give Missouri a small chance but in Athens UGA covers the spread.

True, they haven't played anybody, but they have a very talented QB in James Franklin. If he keeps up what he's been doing so far this year, against Georgia's pitiful defense, I think they will cover against the Richters.

This should be a big eye opener for everybody. I already picked Georgia to cover the spread so you might want to rethink. RTR!

I picked Mizzou.  Tough game for UGA last week and reeling from injuries + a Mizzou team with a talented QB and the motivation to knock off a top-tier team = upset potential.

Also, UGA is still coached by Mark Richt.

Five of the ESPN experts picked Mizzou to cover the spread. One picked UGA. There spread was 9.5 pts.

I never claimed to be an expert and I don't gamble. I still like UGA at home. Mizzou defense has been below average against a weak schedule and UGA can score a lot of points even with some of their top play makers out. UGA defense has not been good but they have played a good schedule. I think UGA slows down Mizzou's offense.


I think we all understand when you are picking against the spread it is a toss up and could go either way.

Plus, it is a football forum. Aren't we supposed to throw our opinions out there, no matter how wrong I am?  :lol2:

Hard to pick this game.  Missouri lost by 21 at home last year.  Georgia is banged up, but still has better athletes.  Missouri's big win of the season is Vandy, which has lost its 3 SEC games.

We aren't hearing any trash talk from Missouri this year.    :D

Georgia has been in 2 down to the second games. This might be the slip up that comes from Athens this year. RTR!

Yeah, I think Missouri learned a little something about "old man football" last year.  (If I remember the quote correctly.)

That's it.  The ESPN guys, and everyone else, soon changed it to "real man football."

Now we know.  Mizzou got it done between the hedges.

Yep.  I thought they would.  Didn't want to say much to the fishers though -- never give away the location of your fishing hole.   :) 

Yeah, but they lost their QB who will not be 100% against USC, ma be done for the year.
