Title: The next game. Post by: hscoach on October 09, 2013, 02:54:05 PM Bama needs to show continued improvement especially in the running game. The OL needs to continue their improvement. I hope they didn't get a false sense of security playing GSU. They have the talent and I like the way Bama has started using more OL which pushes the starters even more. The message is, and should be, you don't do your job someone takes your place.
Title: Re: The next game. Post by: ricky023 on October 09, 2013, 03:38:53 PM I am in agreement hscoach. We need to learn each play and make ourselves better until NOV. 9. Kentucky won't be a push over but we have got to start playing out do all of our opponents or somebody will slip up on us. I can remember pass games when Kentucky got close and made some nerves act up. The best, to me, of the Stoops brothers is going to do well at Kentucky. This is why I just can't see past the first play of the game. RTR!

You're right, the OL needs to be better at pushing to improve the run. I think you will see replacements if someone's not getting the job done. If the OL isn't getting that push, look for more playing time from Chad Lindsay and Grant Hill. Really going to be interesting to see if the DB's, particularly Eddie Jackson, continue to improve. If Bama shores up those chinks in the armour, I think things will continue to look good. Title: Re: The next game. Post by: McBaman on October 09, 2013, 04:42:30 PM This will be C Lindsay's first full game as a starter. I hope he does well. I kinda feel the OL has been better with him in there.
Hill will probably play a lot and if he does well, he could be a starter vs. Arky. Hope O J Howard gets more time too. But after these guys, who is pushing the OL starters?? Also, I'm guessing Coach Cristobol is feeling a little heat. If OL doesn't show progress vs. KY, he may feel a little more. I'd also like to see AJ throw more short passes, i.e. 7 - 12 yarders and some quick slants. And of course throw more to TE. Title: Re: The next game. Post by: Chechem on October 09, 2013, 06:52:35 PM We've had so many stumbles in the progress of this team that I hesitate to predict success. But surely (Shirley?) they'll start plowing some of these teams soon.

Bama has got to have that confidence in running the ball on the short yardage plays and right now I don't know if they have that confidence. There are some tough games ahead where 3rd and short will be a big factor in the outcome of the game.

BUT, I'll be VERY pleased if we beat LSU at all, even if it's with the kicking game, LSU fumbles, or by Les screwups in clock management. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: Title: Re: The next game. Post by: hscoach on October 09, 2013, 09:19:27 PM Ever since the OM game I have thought the OL has looked better with Lindsay in the lineup. I would like to see Bama be more consistent with the running game, but I also like the O taking what the D is giving and moving the chains.

They are still stumbling around, especially the O-line. GSU was a practice game. :wall: Title: Re: The next game.
