I am so sick of this kind of crap..happens every year..some dope can't get his business together , can't seem to understand what rules are for, seems to be a "ME" kind of person..got his head up his *rse, this will go on until CNS just says "I'm tired for this crap..pack your bags, son, you don't play for us anymore".

I'll chime in with this:  We don't know what happened, so let's not jump to conclusions.  The agent thing is just a twitter rumor.

The agent thing was started by rival fans, I think.  Also, if it were an agent problem, I'm not sure he'd be practicing or participating with the team.

It might also require the NCAA to get involved to reinstate him, depending on the circumstances.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  Our SOP procedure for something like that is to declare him ineligible and wait for the NCAA to tell us differently.

I think he tried to hang himself after learning of this. :-\

This gives someone else the opportunity to step up.  I really think Collins could play that position, however would he get enough rep time to be comfortable there and you don't want him to play if he is not comfortable and maybe lose some confidence.

I don't know anything about the situation, but I kind of have a feeling that someone else will get some experience this week and by next week Mr. Clinton-Dix will have learned the lesson Saban wants him to learn.

For sure.  This just feels like the kind of situation where Saban wanted to send a message before something got out of control, and playing the weakest opponent on our schedule (other than the Barn) was the opportune time to send that message.

I think the team can vote him back on right before the LSU game  :P

Depends on how much info they have, right now, if that's the case.

Seems to me like we would not even want to take chances of having him declared ineligible after the fact.  That would screw the season.  If he is suspended for an NCAA offense, why not just declare ineligible until an investigation is completed.  This really tells me it is something more "minor" than that and he will be back by LSU, maybe even Arkie if he plays his cards right.

I'm also leaning toward an internal "attitude" type problem at the moment.  This is a good time to nip that stuff in the bud.

You know I wonder what has happened because usually by this time some one has slipped something out. This is very hush, hush, which means CNS must have laid down the law. You are very astute Preacher. You have noted the key feature of this incident. This means that it is prolly (a) internal, that is a team rule rather than a law or NCAA rule; (b) and prolly academic, with the info being carefully protected by FERPA laws.

The H² is for Ha-Ha.  The Ho is for, um, Hostess.

This is what is screwed up. He borrowed and paid back $500 dollars. Yeah but he shouldn't have done it but the NCAA rules are archeic.Looks like assistant strength coach is in trouble.

Anybody on here know how to find the NCAA bylaw concerning this infraction? I kind of want to know what we are looking at.  I know there have been improper benefits before...ie Julio and the fishing trip.  He had to serve some sort of suspension and pay back the money.  Not sure what it would be with a University employee involved.  Stupid piece of crap!!! >:(

It was LESS than $500.  It could have been $5 to buy a hamburger because he forgot his wallet.  $500 was mentioned because apparently that is the threshold for the NCAA rule in question.  We don't know the amount yet.

I'll probably get blasted for saying this...but... this is another argument for getting athletes, especially those that have to practice/train/workout year-round, some kind of decent stipend.  These guys/gals can't get part time jobs or summer jobs like 'regular' students.  And many come from low/lower income families. Where do they get money?

Now that said...yea, this was stupid.  I don't know if Ha Ha was selfish or kinda desperate.  Just don't know his financial circumstances.  The coach may have thought he was being kindhearted, but still he should have known not to do this.

It sounds like this is going to be similar to, or not quite as bad as, the Marcel Dareus issue from a few years ago, at least from Ha-Ha's perspective.  Now, as for the assistant strength coach, who knows what the wrath of CNS may bring on him.

We need to find out how much money it was.  If it was $5 to buy a hamburger because he forgot his wallet, that seems different than $450 to pay some bills.

I will repeat. Athletes receive a full scholarship, including free room & board, free meals, free books, & free tuition. They can also receive Pell Grants worth $5500, FREE. At Alabama, the scholarship is worth around $30,000 a year. Do you really think if we give them a stipend they still won't want more money. Give me a break. If we give them $100 a month, they will want to spend $200, that's human nature. I paid for my college by serving 7 years in the Army.

I think most fans are !@#$@! tired of all the crap...I am confident CNS runs a clean program, but he can't wipe their behinds all the time..the players have got to know..without any doubt..what the consequences will be for being stupid.

You 30-somethings and under will not agree, but you do not understand the years when we had integrity...and an athletic dorm,,that helped keep the BS away.

Regardless of how hard a coach tries to keep his program clean, it is impossible. You can't watch these young men 24/7 and temptation has ruined many lives by them not making the right choices.

I don't know any of the details, factual, about what has happened in this case, only what I've seen on the internet. I did hear a reporter talking about Ha Ha today and he was shocked to hear the news. He described Ha Ha as a vey quiet gentleman when interviewing him, not someone trying to draw attention to himself.

I don't know either the coach nor Ha Ha and I will wait to hear what is factual information before passing any judgement on Ha Ha and the coach. I do feel that something good may come out of this for Ha Ha though.

I think it is hard for coaches to teach someone right from wrong and when they have never had parents who taught them. Most have split parents and most don't even know their dads there is no respect taught at home anymore. RTR!
