Title: Jim Tressel won't be resigning
Post by: pmull on May 15, 2011, 07:57:51 AM
Sweatervest has hired Gene Marsh to represent him. I hope Marsh does for him what he did for Bama. He basically threw us under the bus.

At some point OSU has to stop all the negative publicity.

Quote
But nothing indicates quitting is part of Tressel's thinking right now. And Gene Marsh, the former chairman of the NCAA Committee on Infractions who has been retained by Tressel in recent weeks, agreed with that sentiment in a brief interview with The Plain Dealer on Friday.

According to conversations with others in the past week, Tressel's intentions, like it or not, are to stay with his players and continue what he sees as his mission at Ohio State.
Which, in my opinion, is incredibly selfish of Tressel.

His team will do that for him during the investigation. Count on it.

This whole Jim Tressel/Ohio State saga is incredible. You have a stubborn, proud, and arrogant coach who is determined he won't be run off in disgrace. You have a weak, simpering university president who has made a complete fool of himself to the whole world (including his fellow academics), and an AD who has come across as an out-of-touch, bumbling goofball. All of this has occurred because of Tressel and his lying, yet still, he has a job and is defiantly daring anyone to do somthing about it. His attitude seems to be, "to hell with what's best for the university and its reputation as a whole and the football program in particular." Like someone said, how long does OSU allow this bleeding to go on without abatement for the sake of one guy and the bottom line is, it's not going to end pretty if they don't stop it right now.

I agree with you except I would use the term Hemorrhaging instead of bleeding.

tOSU has always thought they had a top name in College Football, after this tussel is over, how will their name look? So many allegations have been brought up, it has to be hard to go into homes and tell the parents I know what is best for your child. Shoot fire, they are in trouble I think. RTR!
