Title: Week 6 Games Will be Interesting
Post by: Marshal Dillon on September 29, 2013, 10:02:51 AM
The schedule for week 6 is very interesting. I counted at least 14 games we could pick from. SUPERCOACH will have a roaring headache over which games to pick.

Busy day.  Wife is in training, I got the kids and had to pick up mother-in-law at the airport.

Cool.  The times are correct.  ESPN has no info about TV, other than Gameplan/ESPN3.  Certainly add those to the list of potential games then.

I grabbed one of your games, AZ ST v. ND, and ALTide's Vandy v. MO game to make 10

The UCLA v. Utah game is probably the best of the Thursday games, though it is 9 p.m. start CST.  Point spread is only 4 Points.

I disagree, I think Texas/Iowa State game is very compelling. It is part of the Mack Brown death watch and he better win that game. Like I said earlier, this is a very tough slate of games to pick from.

My other recommendations:

Texas/Kansas State
UCLA/Utah

***I just noticed that I selected 11 games so drop TCU/Oklahoma.

I'm torn between the Baylor/W. Va. game and UCLA/Utah but I chose UCLA.

Texas just played Kansas State.  I assume you mean Iowa State. Your 10 games includes two Thursday games?  I'll let SC decide that.  Between the two, I like the UCLA game better.  We've already picked Texas a good bit. I like having a Thursday game, but I hate having so many people miss out on picking that game.

Right now, everyone seems to pretty much agree on the 8 Saturday games you listed, except the TCU game (which you also struck).  The other two popular Saturday games are GA v. TN and MO v. Vandy.  Or there are the two Thursday night games, Texas v. Iowa St. and UCLA v. Utah, which also are popular with others.  SC can decide from here.

I like Texas because their slow demise is very enjoyable to watch. The mizoo vandy game us a pretty evenly matched lower eschelon SEC tilt. I like those. GA vs Tenn is gonna be a slaughter.

It appears the majority wants these 10:

Thursday Night:
Texas v. Iowa State, ESPN

12:00 PM   No. 25 Maryland at No. 8 Florida State  ESPN  17 Points
3:30 PM   Georgia Tech at No. 14 Miami (FL)    ESPNU  0 Points?  (Pick)
7:00 PM   No. 10 LSU at Mississippi State   ESPN  9.5 Points
7:00 PM   Arkansas at No. 18 Florida    ESPN2  10.5 Points
7:00 PM   No. 24 Ole Miss at Auburn    ESPNU  2.5 Points
7:30 PM   No. 22 Arizona State vs. Notre Dame   NBC   5.5 Points
7:30 PM   Missouri v. Vanderbilt  CSS?  2 Points
8:00 PM   No. 4 Ohio State at No. 16 Northwestern   ABC  6 Points
10:30 PM   No. 15 Washington at No. 5 Stanford  ESPN  6.5 Points

Alternate:
3:30 PM   No. 6 Georgia at Tennessee   CBS  10 Points

That gives us mostly Saturday night games, and leaves off CBS's Saturday afternoon SEC game (which I'd take over the AZ St v. ND game or the Thursday game -- I'm already bored with Texas' demise).

There's a lot of weirdness out there. FSU has it's hands full with BC. WVU looks awful but then kills highly ranked OKst. But Maryland killed WVU so they must be something. And then they get throttled by FSU.

I could take the 2-8 record. What I can't accept is that Texas, who I hate, won, but not by enough to cover.  >:(

with one heartbeat ...

I blame the players!  Even Alabama failed to meet 56-pt expectations; tsk, a 42-pt win!  Shame.

I knew this week's games would be a challenge. Now we know for sure that Ole Miss was way overrated, but what does that tell you about Texas?

I'm not so sure that OM losing to the barn was as much being over-rated as it was Bama hangover.

to be honest I never dreamed that Ole Miss would turn into
Little Sisters of the Poor and let *U whoop their butt like that

 >:(

then Georgia forgot to tighten the lug nuts and the wheels came off
against that crappy Vols team ...
with or w/o the injuries or possible help from the zebras
they were lucky to escape Kville with the win  :eyeroll:
never thought the Vols would score over 17 points either though

all the others turned out about like I thought and
of course we didn't cover but hey , I'll pick us again next week too !

Hugh Freeze can not coach. He made some dumb calls in the Bama game and he kept his team from beating auburn.

Maryland is not NEARLY as good as people were thinking. They have a few good players, but their 4 wins have come against FIU, ODU, UCONN, and a bad WVU team. Yes, WVU is BAD. I watched that game, and Hoover High School could have beaten them that day.

What sort of cosmic fate fart occurred to let them beat OkSt?

That's what everybody was asking about Iowa State 2 years ago.

Maybe they borrowed the barn's horseshoe for a week.  :dunno:

Man, I wouldn't touch that horseshoe. Before the barn got their cooties on it, it fell out of Les's uh....er...dark place.
