Alabama wins, but frustration is obvious
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- AJ McCarron didn't bother to watch Kenyan Drake cross the plane of the end zone. Alabama's veteran quarterback instead turned toward the sideline and threw his hands up in disgust. On fourth-and-inches from the Colorado State 3-yard line, McCarron went to hand the ball off only to see his sophomore running back had gone left, not right like the play had called for. It worked and Drake scored, but it wasn't perfect.

Beside himself, McCarron fumed as he waited for the touchdown celebration to end.

A lot is riding on AJ now to get this team headed in the right direction.

Yep.  And unless perfection awards him with another championship, he shall be forever frustrated at having come so close to three-peat but failed.
 :dunno:

Scarborough takes AJ to task for not communicating with the media, but what do they expect him to do?  Better not air those feelings in public, and AJ knows it.  He's trying for the record books, and the team isn't giving him any confidence.  This is not a No. 1 right now.

AJ has been frustrated all season, except maybe against TA&M.  Getting Yeldon back in the starting lineup might help -- but the OLine has not shown the ability to consistently perform.  Their only decent performance was against a highly suspect Aggies D that hasn't stopped anyone.

This team needs a reality check soon.  Ole Miss should provide that -- hopefully Bama can escape with a win.

I for one think AJs response to the press was just what was needed.  He needed to communicate to the rest of the team that this type of performance was not going to be tolerated and that he was not going to gloss over it.  I liked what I heard from CJ too.  These guys have to be very vocal and active in practice this week and remind the underclassmen that if they don't do it right, we will lose this week against a talented Ole Piss team.

AJ called out the O.  CJ called out the D.  I hope the rest of the team is listening.

AJ and CJ are the leaders, I say bless them for stepping up to the plate. Great football teams have great leaders, and we need that for the rest of the year. Each player needs to pick the other players up when they falter. RTR!
