I'm confused. Don't the players get fed as part of their scholarship? Also, if he can not afford rent, he get live on his scholarship paid dorm room.

The problem I have with all of this is how and when it was done. I am no UT apologist, but the only party that stands to lose out on this situation now is UT. Foster can't be touched by the NCAA (which is true of MOST of the athletes that end up in this situation), so I am trying to understand his motivation for this. He said he is not trying to throw anyone under the bus by doing this, but doesn't this throw the entire UT athletic department under the bus? Even if the allegations are true, why didn't he come forward earlier if this is about trying to change a perceived problem in college athletics?

The NCAA's general statute of limitations is 4 years, which probably will apply to tacos and rent money, to prevent any action by the NCAA.  So that's why he waited.
