Title: Louisville Football Schedule is a joke Post by: pmull on August 17, 2013, 03:57:03 PM I was watching ESPN this morning while on the treadmill at the gym. They were talking about their Top 12. They have Louisville ranked in the Top 10. They do not play a game against anyone in the Top 40. Look at this schedule. What a joke.
Louisville Schedule Ohio E Kentucky @Kentucky Florida Int @Temple Rutgers UCF @South Florida @Connecticut Houston Memphis @Cincinnati Florida has to play 6 teams ranked in the preseason Top 12. I don't think UK will stay on the field with them that early in the season. Cincinnati has the best shot assuming Butch Jones left Tubs some talent. I expect them to go undefeated and get hammered in a bowl game. Title: Re: Louisville Football Schedule is a joke Post by: 2Stater on August 17, 2013, 04:50:39 PM And they say Bama's schedule is easy.
The thing is, Louisville does have talent on that team, but with that schedule, if there are more than 2 undefeated teams, I don't see them going to the NC game. I don't see an unbeaten Louisville going to the BCS CG ahead of a one loss SEC team. Louisville has a total cream puff schedule & there is no way they play ahead of a one loss SEC or even PAC-12 team. I think Brando picked them to play Ohio State for the NC. Title: Re: Louisville Football Schedule is a joke Post by: Catch Prothro on August 17, 2013, 05:53:46 PM Yep, for a team with their talent, their schedule is a joke. They should blow out the competition. If they are undefeated, we may see them appear in the BCSCG by default -- their schedule, while weak, is still tougher than what Boise State usually faced. I think they can play one game with a lot of teams; I don't think they could go undefeated in a decent conference. Computers won't like them, though, so they are still a long shot.

They are a long shot, even under normal circumstances and you guys are right, they will not make it with a one loss SEC team. They beat an over-achieving team in the Sugar Bowl and now the media is in love with them, particularly Bama-bashers like Brando. JMHO I hope you are right but you have more confidence in Mark Stoops than I do. We'll have to wait and see what happens with them in the post season. ;)

Their QB (Bridgewater) is a talent, well composed and NFL caliber. Title: Re: Louisville Football Schedule is a joke Post by: pmull on August 18, 2013, 07:09:34 AM They remind me of Boise State. They have a good team but nothing they do with that schedule will impress me. I assume we will have CRS poll again this year. I will put them 8-10 and they will most likely stay there most of the year. The only way they move up is if all teams ahead of them stink.
Title: Re: Louisville Football Schedule is a joke Post by: Jamos on August 18, 2013, 07:17:15 AM It will be interesting to see if their SOS will have an affect on their position in the polls, as was the Boise State saga.

The American Athletic Conference has the Big East's automatic bid to the BCS, so they'll play in the big bowls if they go undefeated. That, plus the attraction of Bridgewater, will keep them in the polls. The bowls will want Louisville and Bridgewater, much more than they wanted Boise. I don't think they can get into the BCSNCG, even if everyone else loses a game (as you said), but they'll stay in the top 10 if undefeated. |
