Title: Rolando McClain 'seems to be getting along great' in his return to Alabama
Post by: Jamos on July 18, 2013, 09:29:21 PM
I stated in an earlier thread that I thought McLain could be something special with the team this year and after reading this, I haven't changed my mind.

I agree. CNS would not have him around if he felt Ro would have a negative influence.

Personally, I think he returns to the NFL next year or the year after that. He has been needing some adult supervision & guidance. First, Oakland is a pit of a city with high crime and is probably the closest thing to a communist/socialist country with some really crazy people. Secondly, the Oakland Raiders was run by crazy Al Davis. The franchise has been in constant turmoil for over 10 years. These factors made Oakland the worst possible place for Rolando to go. He needs to be at a more stable team like the Giants, Falcons, Patriots, Pittsburgh, or others. I think Saban reached out to help this young person get his life together. Finally, I agree with what another poster has said repeatedly, he needs to stay the heck out of Decatur and away from his home boys.

He isn't on campus and around the football team just because he wants to be, there are some rules and guidelines that he will have to follow and I'm betting the first one is, stay out of North Alabama. He has a big chance to clean up his act and get back in the good graces of the folks he needs most, I don't think he will blow this chance but he is Rolando McLain. :dunno:

Maybe Ro finds his calling and becomes a coach. He would make a good GA. That said he has to stay out of trouble first and foremost.

I just saw him in Decatur about 3 weeks ago.  Thankfully he was leaving.

Hopefully he was driving a U-Haul truck.

No a black Yukon.  Had a baby and a mama with him.  I didn't see him and the lady interact romatically, so it could've been family for all I know.  He did seem pretty good with the baby though (actually she was probably 12-18mos)

I just pray for this kid. He left a rough person, but it brought him down when his football was taken away. I know who took that football away and now I want to see Rolando improve and have that class that U of A teaches. RTR!
