The elder Hallmarks lived on Frontier Rd in the Ruth community.  Hedduk's uncle sold them the land and their house sat on a hill behind his house.  ther younger ones came over to ride out the storm with the parents.  The home was a manufactured home and sat on a slab. Frontier Rd is the road Hedduk grw up on and he still has a number of family living there.  All are safe but three family homes were damaged aand are no longer habitable.the tornado crossed Hedduk's farm on the ground before hitting the houses and destroying the Hallmark home.  It then crossed Frontier and follows the curve of it taking down wall trees on it and destroying numerous small homes and a small trailer park.  We were able to drive the road before the National Guard arrived and the devastation is surreal.  we took some pictures from the car but I am on my new Ipad2 and have no idea how to load them yet.

We have no power but have no damage.  We have a gas stove, a gas hot water heater and now a generator powering frig and freezer.  We also have wonderful neighbors and feel very blessed.

P.S. My pos is going behind the ads on the right side and I can't see any typos I am making there so please forgive my mistakes.

Please pray for the Hallmarks.  Our whole community is taking their tragic death very hard.

PPS  Our granddaughter at Bama had a sorority sister die in the Tuscaloosa ton ado.  This is the third Phi Mu that has been killed this school year.  Bam a has recommended that all students go home and final exams have bben cancelled except for students who want to bring up an existing grade.  Those will be administered online.

forgive my ramblings - that's all I seem to have done for days.  I just can't seem to focus right now.

KupKake - please feel free to "ramble" all you want. We are friends and at this time you need to be able to vent, talk and express your feelings.  I am so sorry about the devastation you and your community suffered.  Please know that you all are in our prayers.

One county I didn't see listed was Walker. Has anyone heard if there were any fatalities from the Jasper-Cordova area?
