Quote “The SEC is where you want to play D-1 ball," Jackson told BamaOnline. "If you can compete there, you can play at the next level for sure. It’s where everyone wants to be. They’ve been the national champions for two consecutive years and they have Coach Nick Saban." Can't blame him for the flip. When Saban offers, it is hard to say no. And Saban wouldn't offer a JUCO unless he is expected to have an immediate impact. Quote According to the 247Sports composite, Jackson is the No. 1 JUCO offensive tackle in the 2014 class, the No. 1 JUCO recruit from California and the No. 2 overall JUCO recruit. He has tremendous size at 6'7'', 304 pounds. So in another 21 days, where will he be committed?? This is great news but maybe restrained celebration is called for.

There's a real possibility that he wanted to be at Bama all along and we had him playing the waiting game. If so, you can't blame him for securing a back-up plan while available. The reason I say this is there's still folks saying that Leon Brown (JUCO OT that came in in January) has been dismissed from the team. Perhaps that opened up a spot for Jackson. |
