Title: Coach Sumlin of Texas A&M Offered Job by Guess Who
Post by: Marshal Dillon on June 13, 2013, 06:57:18 PM
Amazing. He won't be around long if he keeps winning.

Quote
TexAgs.com co-owner and A&M insider Billy Liucci told the Express-News that the Eagles offered Sumlin their head-coaching job before finally reaching a deal with former Oregon coach Chip Kelly. Auburn also reportedly sought Sumlin for its then-vacant coaching position before ultimately bringing back Gus Malzahn.]

A&M is a pretty good place to be. Other than getting the NFL itch where would he go that is a better situation than A&M? I can only thing of a few schools. If he continues to win like he did at Houston and in his first year at A&M schools will be trying to get him but I think A&M might be able to convince him to stay. A&M has money, good fan base and nice facilities. Plus they are riding high since joining the SEC.

There is one guy who thought A&M is a better place to coach than Bama.

A&M is definitely a better place than the Barn.  More fans, more money, and a huge recruiting base in Texas, especially since Texas is down.  At the Barn, you got Bama to the west, Georgia to the east, and Florida to the south, all much better programs.
