Title: All-American Carter to leave JC early; signs with Alabama - Women's Basketball Post by: pmull on June 11, 2013, 01:06:34 PM Our new coach is out doing some recruiting. This is a good start. I hope Coach Curry can get our program turned around. It has been a long time since we had even been competitive with the better teams in the SEC.
Quote Khadijah Carter, a 6-foot-1 post from Goodrich, Texas, confirmed Monday that she has signed with the University of Alabama and plans on taking summer classes at the Tuscaloosa institution beginning next month. “I visited Alabama in late May and I loved everything about the school, the women's basketball program and of course coach (Kristy) Curry,” Carter said. “I got to know coach Curry when I visited Texas Tech and coach Curry was coach there at the time. Although a Lady Jaguar for just one season, Carter's exploits on basketball courts throughout NJCAA Region XIV will, no doubt, be remembered for a long time to come. The Parade All-American averaged 18.5 points and 10.2 rebounds a game for former head coach Lynn Nabi's Lady Jags. http://jacksonvilleprogress.com/sports/x1999356468/All-American-Carter-to-leave-JC-early-signs-with-Alabama Title: Re: All-American Carter to leave JC early; signs with Alabama - Women's Basketball Post by: ricky023 on June 11, 2013, 01:16:45 PM I great start. If our CKC can out recruit some others and get some good pick ups from other places we my on the road to getting fixed. A couple of years maybe we will be proud of what Basketball has again for both sides. RTR!

Title: Re: All-American Carter to leave JC early; signs with Alabama - Women's Basketball Post by: Jamos on June 11, 2013, 08:22:32 PM It shouldn't take very long for a good coach to get the ladies back on the right track and she has started with recruiting a big player in the middle. I think we might see instant results in the recruitment of players, it's a great chance to get to play early and it's the start of something new. Roll Tide!!!

Title: Re: All-American Carter to leave JC early; signs with Alabama - Women's Basketball Post by: pmull on June 13, 2013, 01:07:09 PM Coach Curry has also signed a point guard in Karyla Middlebrook from Missouri. If I am a coach I would put a priority on a post player and point guard. That is what Coach Curry has done. These look like two very good players.
Quote Middlebrook, a 5-7 point guard from Blue Springs, Mo., is ranked as the No. 22 point guard and No. 81 overall talent in the 2013 class by ESPN. She is a three-time all-conference and all-district selection and earned all-state honors from the Missouri Sports Writers Association in 2012 and 2013 and the Missouri Coaches Association in 2013. As a senior, she also was named to the Missouri All-Star Team and the USA Today All-State Team for Missouri. Middlebrook led Blue Springs High School to the state Final Four for three straight years, finishing third in 2013. Averaging over 12 points and four assists per game as a senior, she was selected as a finalist for the DiRenna Award, given annually to the top player in the Kansas City Metro area. In addition to her success on the court, Middlebrook has also flourished in the classroom, graduating magna cum laude. http://www.rolltide.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/061013aaa.html Title: Re: All-American Carter to leave JC early; signs with Alabama - Women's Basketball Post by: ricky023 on June 13, 2013, 02:25:15 PM Good this young lady sounds as if she is really talented. We must have a BB coach now for the Tidettes. RTR!
