Missouri also honored with APR award
Missouri joins Alabama as the only two SEC football programs recognized by the NCAA for ranking in the top 10 percent in the nation in Academic Progress Rate (APR) for the 2011-12 academic year.

The NCAA Division I Public Recognition Awards were announced Wednesday, and we on the SEC blog failed to properly recognize Missouri at the time because Missouri was not listed among the SEC schools on the NCAA web site.

Our apologies, and we want to make sure the Tigers get their props.

I am glad to see Mizzou did something right in their first year in the SEC. All their sports programs were bottom tier. Even their highly touted basketball team unachieved.
